Alan noticed in 2007 that Interactive Maps were in common use in the Northern Hemisphere. He also noticed that Australia has not embraced this technology at this stage as far as Interactive Maps are concerned.
The cost of producing an interactive map is very little more expensive than an ordinary map. HOWEVER, when placed on the internet, an Interactive Map is much more attractive, informative and entertaining for the viewer than a non-interactive web site or non-interactive web map.
Alan started drawing maps on the computer in about 1990. He started this business in 2004 and since then has produced maps in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.
Why use Mayne Maps?
- I charge a fraction of the normal costs of map production.
- With the advent of Google Earth, by using digital topographical maps and maps sourced by the government, I can produce highly detailed and accurate maps without leaving home - this also keeps my costs down.
- Any information not available on my computer is obtained by recording using a GPS. This is then downloaded onto the computer and overlaid with the other information.
- The maps I produce can be supplied to the client for them to view on their computer, placed on the internet or supplied to them to print using their own printer.
- I use Corel Draw which is considered by some to be one of the best graphic packages in the industry.
- The files I produce belong to the client and will be supplied to them in any format for their continued use if requested.
- The files can be exported in 50 formats. These include html for web page use and also for AutoCAD.
My Prices:
When requested to undertake a map, I will indicate the approximate cost.
During the work, I will inform the client as to the cost up to this point in time.
At any stage, the client is invited to cancel the job if the costs are considered excessive for the results produced
