Alan has produced maps of cattle and horse properties from Maryborough in central Queensland to Glen Innes in New South Wales.
The five main reasons for such maps have been for:
- Managing the property by aiding communication and record keeping:
- Planning future changes to the property (such as where to fence):
- Promotion of the property remembering that these maps can be posted on the internet:
- Planning to subdivide the property: and
- For selling the property.
Many property maps such as those shown, can be produced from satellite imagery and from contour maps. Even fence lines can often be seen on Google or other satellite imagery.
To know the area within each paddock that is grazing land rather than thick vegetation is invaluable to some clients.
Alan likes to include 5 meter contour lines on maps. Less precise contours can be used if the land is hilly or for economy of the map.
If the property is ever on the market to be sold, then up-to-date, accurate maps displaying all the information and also the hidden infrastructure including fence lines, gates, areas of paddocks and dams as well as any pipe lines across the property.
Alan suggests that you find a map from the samples similar to your property. Give Alan a call and he will provide an estimate.
