Ideally, pipes should be marked by having above-ground markers that are placed in the ground just above the pipe.
However, in real life and over time, these markers tend to disappear.
They get mowed or slashed, they get burnt during fires or they just vanish as cars and other vehicles hit them.
The two samples above show two different ways of marking and recording the position of pipes connecting properties on the Granite Belt.
The “Pipe Line 1” map shows the position of the pipe in relation to other fixed and known land marks such as roads, fences, dams etc.
The “Pipe Line 2” map records the GPS positions of important parts of the pipe. In this way, the position of the pipe in the future can be found using a GPS.
Alan suggests that you find a map from the samples similar to your property. Give Alan a call and he will provide a quote.
